Elijah Under the Juniper
archetypes
After a great victory and great fear, the prophet collapses in self-pity, requests death, is fed by an angel, walks forty days, and is rebuked gently by a still small voice. Failure mode: Conflating personal exhaustion with abandonment by God; assuming one is alone when seven thousand have not bowed. Restoration path: Eat, sleep, walk, listen for the still small voice rather than the wind, earthquake, or fire. Markers: exhausted after a peak; threatened by power; feels uniquely alone; wants to quit or die; despair following triumph
