A parable — Burnout well

A woman drew water from her own strength for many years. The well went lower each season. When at last it was dry she sat at the wellhead and wept. A stranger came and said, 'There is another well, deeper than yours, and it never runs dry. But you must lower your bucket; you cannot keep raising it.' She had to be empty before she would believe him. Ask yourself: Whose well are you drawing from when yours runs dry? GOD — wait. The source of true strength is not in you. The dry season is the invitation to a deeper well. (A Narrow Highway original teaching parable — not a parable of Jesus; a made story that carries a true edge.)
