Devotional: Reflection: Between the Shortest and Longest
devotionals
Between the shortest and longest chapters in the Bible (Psalm 117 and Psalm 119) lies Psalm 118, which centers on salvation through the rejected cornerstone — Jesus Christ. Psalm 117 is the call for all nations to praise the LORD; Psalm 118 presents the Messiah, the rejected stone who becomes the chief cornerstone; Psalm 119 describes the life of obedience in God’s Word. This placement has been seen by many as symbolic: between the smallest and largest stands Jesus, the center of Scripture both thematically and (in chapter count) literally.
