A parable — Grace to others
An elder brother stayed in the field while the younger spent the inheritance and returned. The father killed the calf for the younger and threw a feast. The elder stood outside, refusing to enter. The father came out: 'Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine. It was meet that we should make merry, for thy brother was dead, and is alive again.' The elder brother's debt was paid; the question was whether he would receive what was already his. Ask yourself: Are you standing outside a feast you have been invited to? RED — be honest. Grace given to others is not subtracted from grace given to you. (A Narrow Highway original teaching parable — not a parable of Jesus; a made story that carries a true edge.)
