A parable — Addiction chain

A man wore a small chain around his wrist. It was light at first and he did not notice. Each year he added a link to it himself, because the weight was familiar. By the time he wished to remove it, the chain was around his neck. The freedom he sought was not in pulling at the chain; it was in the Son of Man who could break what was forged in years. Ask yourself: What chain have you been adding links to without noticing? FLOOR — protect what cannot recover. Self-removal is rarely enough. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed (Jn 8:36). (A Narrow Highway original teaching parable — not a parable of Jesus; a made story that carries a true edge.)
