Asks for wisdom and is given it abundantly; builds the temple; receives the queen of Sheba; multiplies wives and horses and gold against the law of the king; gods of his wives turn his heart; the kingdom torn after his death. Failure mode: Wisdom that does not govern its own appetites; the very things forbidden to a king are multiplied. Restoration path: Wisdom is given to be applied first to ones own house; the explicit prohibition is not negotiable for the gifted. Markers: asks for wisdom rather than wealth; granted both; builds great works; violates explicit kingly prohibitions; gifted but turned away in old age
