A parable — Pride humility b
A teacher knelt to tie the shoes of his students before the long walk. The students were embarrassed and tried to refuse; but the teacher said, 'You will walk farther if your shoes are tied. The walking is the lesson, not who tied them.' That evening one student tied another's, and a third tied the teacher's. The lesson had been the tying. Ask yourself: Whose shoes have you been refusing to tie because of who you are? RED — be honest. Pride asks 'who do they think I am?' Humility asks 'whose foot needs the shoe tied?' (A Narrow Highway original teaching parable — not a parable of Jesus; a made story that carries a true edge.)
