Fourier's move — decompose a whole into the few fundamental modes that generate it — generalized off the regular cycle (where the FFT lives) to the map: the EIGENMODES of the dimension correlation matrix ARE the map's natural axes; each eigenvalue is the energy/rate that mode carries (calibrate to source + rate of descent). The few leading modes are the few generating forms. HONEST STATUS: plausible — intuition proposes, the assay disposes; this is the operator's seed, not a verified result. Caveat: Held as a PLACEHOLDER TO TRUTH — a CANDIDATE lens, not confirmed. One correlation matrix on a small/sparse grid (4 dims have only 5-6 carriers); the FFT proper lives on a regular cycle, this is the GRAPH/spectral generalization, named honestly. Elegance (the eigenbasis) is a witness, not a proof.
