A parable — Suffering betrayal

The psalmist wrote: it was not an enemy who reproached me — I could have borne that. It was you, my equal, my companion. The wound from a friend's hand goes deeper than the sword's, because the friend was inside the gate. Ask yourself: Are you trying to forgive an enemy or to grieve a friend? BROTHERS — name the wound for what it is. A betrayed friendship needs witnesses and time (Ps 55:12-14). (A Narrow Highway original teaching parable — not a parable of Jesus; a made story that carries a true edge.)
