Failure mode: Earlier pride that almost refused the simple cure. Restoration path: Listen to the captive girl; obey the simple word instead of waiting for the grand one; dip seven times. Markers: powerful but afflicted; cure announced through the lowliest; expected ceremony, given simplicity; offended at first by the simplicity; obeys and becomes as a child
