A parable — Aging field
A farmer walked his field at evening and saw the rows he had not planted, and the rows planted and not yet harvested. The light was leaving. He had time to harvest some, and he had time to plant nothing new. He chose, with the time he had, to gather what was ripe, and to pray over the rows he could not finish, and to leave them to the one who would come after. Ask yourself: What are you still trying to plant when the time is for harvest? GOD — wait. Teach us to number our days. The last hour is not for new planting. (A Narrow Highway original teaching parable — not a parable of Jesus; a made story that carries a true edge.)
