Devotional: Reflection: Between the Shortest and Longest
Source: Operator-authored devotional (Psalm 118:21–23 NKJV) · matt
Between the shortest and longest chapters in the Bible (Psalm 117 and Psalm 119) lies Psalm 118, which centers on salvation through the rejected cornerstone — Jesus Christ.
Psalm 117 is the call for all nations to praise the LORD; Psalm 118 presents the Messiah, the rejected stone who becomes the chief cornerstone; Psalm 119 describes the life of obedience in God’s Word. This placement has been seen by many as symbolic: between the smallest and largest stands Jesus, the center of Scripture both thematically and (in chapter count) literally.
